What has Christ done for you?

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

And for this cause have I been lifted up; therefore, according to the power of the Father I will draw all men unto me, that they may be judged according to their works."

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"

The miracles Christ preformed were amazing, but do not have much value if we do not still rely on Him.  Put trust in Jesus Christ, and allow His miracles to work within you!

A Feeling You Can't Describe

As I listen to a lady tell her conversion story of how she found Christ in her life, this unique feeling came over me.  It was nothing overwhelming, or anything to fear, but subtle peace.  As she spoke this feeling told me her story was all true.  As she bore testimony of the happiness which comes from following Christ, the feeling caused her words to ring true inside me.

The feeling is happiness. The feeling is peace.  The feeling is love.  Its like receiving a hug from someone you know and love in a time of need.  The feeling is amazing, but so hard to explain.  Words don't seem to give justice to this divine feeling...

But what is this feeling that is so hard to explain?

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

This feel is the Spirit!  We all have the chance to feel it if we put ourselves in the right place, and open our hearts!  I am grateful for this indescribable feeling, that Heavenly Father sends each one of us personally to let us know of the His truth.

FOLLOW, and ACT when this feeling is sent to you!

What Can be Found In a Pencil Box

A good friend of mine just wrote a post on his blog about " Rock-Paper-Scissors ".  As I read the creatively written post my mind took a stroll down memory lane.  I thought of all the games I used to find so much fun in, while in grade school.  Rock-paper-scissor, boy/girl tag, hide-n-go-seek, four square, dodge ball, and the list of fun goes on and on.

The games brought back memories of childhood friends some long gone, others still close and dear.  Life was so simple then.  My only cares in the world was whens recess or whats for lunch?

Then, I remembered something all little kids were equipped with back then...a trusty pencil box!!!  The items held within these boxes were highly prized in a child's eyes.  There was everything from color pencils, pens, stickers, gum, bouncy balls, pencil sharpeners, and don't forget the BIG PINK ERASER.  Those big pink erasers were the jack-pot in my day.  All little kids envied those who had these miracle workers.  Your pencil box was just not complete without one of these gems.
I pondered that desire all kids had for those erasers.  Why was the eraser so key?  The answer is plain and simple, with a few strokes of the eraser all your problems and mistakes were gone.  Leaving no messy smudges on math problems, or rough spots on doodles.  Those erasers could fix everything...Just like Christ can do in our lives.  Sure the pencils and crayons are all nice, but the eraser is what we really need, to fix our errors.

Christ is our eraser.  No matter how big or same the problem may be, He can fix it without leaving behind any smudges.  I invite all to look inside your pencil box, and pull out your big pink eraser.  Christ is the only way  we can truly correct our smudges!!

Strive towards Christ

Right now I am trying to focus on knowing Christ better in my life.  I came to the conclusion the best way to come to know someone, is to become like them.  Becoming like Christ is no simple task, He is perfect, but it something to continually strive for.

Once I had set my mind to this focus of Christ, it seemed like opportunities to put it to the test kept arising.  These opportunities were not always ones looked forward to.  Christ is Christ because He loves perfectly.  No matter what the situation maybe or how unfair the circumstance He still loved perfectly.  My opportunities came from loving in tough situations.  We all come across a lot of people in our lives, some are not the easiest to love.

How does Christ do it??  How can He keep His cool, and not get frustrated??  How does He only show this perfect type of love, and not even complain or expect praise back??

I don't think I will ever fully know how He does it in this life.  But I am sure grateful that He does.  I am grateful that He has mastered the art of Love, giving us all an example to follow.  I have realized in my focus on Christ, as I come closer to Him it seems like I see more and more areas I can personally improve on.  How awesome is that, as we strive to come closer to Christ, Heavenly Father shows us our imperfections and gives us the chance to work on them.

I know becoming like Christ is a lofty goal, but it is one I desire to work towards.  It brings lots of self reflections, and helps me realize where true happiness comes from.  Christ didn't have eternal happiness because of riches and gold, but because the perfect love He had developed for others.  His love did not have bounds or confound by pride.  He did not see people for their outward worth or appearance.  Christ loves all, the righteous and the sinner.

I invite all of you in joining with me in attempts to become more like Christ.  He is the light and life of the world.  He is perfect.  He is the Lamb of God.  He is our older brother we can all look up to and diligently strive to become like!!

Spirit of the Season

the world is white,
snow is falling

as we care,
love fills the air

candies and treats,
family meet and greets

look to the star,
Christ is found there

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!
